Living in the Northeast, we love our seafood. We recently went to Maine – we’re from New York – and we had to get some crab cakes. So much tastier crab cakes you might not have enjoyed from any other source before, it is so wonderful. Maine was in our thoughts when we got back home and we miss the crab cakes.

So, we decided to look up a traditional crab recipe online. Now, that was hard. Most of the recipes were difficult and told us to buy a certain type of crab meat which was really expensive. I think we’ll have to go back to Maine soon. Whether you are looking to serve crab cakes at your next dinner party or informal get-together, you can find many different crab cake recipes online. Just go to your regular search engine and type in crab cake recipe. From there you can select the website you want to try.

Keep in mind that crab cakes are usually served as appetizers, but they do quite well as an informal entre, or as part of a larger dish. When serving appetizers, you should always have some great tasting sauces and dips to accentuate the tasty cakes. If perhaps you want to try something a little spicy, try a red pepper sauce or search for an online recioe to suit.

Otherwise, just go with the tried and true red cocktail sauce and a good, hearty tartar sauce.
